Crochet a “Geisha” mini doll. For information on equipements check out the basic minimeu pattern
You’ll need different color yarn, but you are free to use different colors than I did.
Crochet geisha mini doll;
To make a geisha doll start making a basic doll, using these colors (skip the “hair style” and bow);
Color A: hair color (black)
Color B: skin color (white)
Color C: color of sweater (pink)
Color D: pants (grey)
Hair – bigger ball, on top (color A)
R1: 6 in MR
R2: inc x6 (12)
R3: (sc, inc) x6 (18)
R4-5 (2rnds): 18sc
Leave a long tail for attaching to head, add a little bit of polyester filling before attaching.
Hair – smaller ball, on side (make 2)
R1: 6 in MR
R2: inc x6 (12)
R3-4: 12 sc (12)
Leave a long tail for attaching to head, add a little bit of polyester filling before attaching.
Kimono (color C) – is made crocheting back and forth. Ch 1 at end of round before turning (doesn’t count as sts)
R1: ch19
R2: in 2nd st; 18sc
R3: 2sc, ch3, skip 3 sts, 8sc, ch3, skip 3 sts, 2sc (this will make holes for arms)
R4: inc 1st st, sc in each sts until last one; inc in last sts (20)
R5: 20 sc
R6: inc 1st st, sc in each sts until last one; inc in last sts (22)
R7: 22sc
R8: inc 1st st, sc in each sts until last one; inc in last sts (24)
R9: 24sc
Repeat R8-9 until desire length (you will keep on increasing every other round)
Make a border (red color): crochet along the edge. Start at 1st sts and crochet down; Make one sc in every sts, except for bottom corners (2); crochet like this in corner sts; (2sc, ch2, 2sc). When you reach top edge (18sts); crochet like this; 4dc, 1hdc, sl st 8 times, 1hdc, 4dc
Arms: into hole made on R3; make 10 sc (make inc on each side) into the hole.
R2: (4sc, inc) x2 (12)
R3-5: 12 sc
Belt (gold): Make a chain of as many ch needed to get around doll; make on extra ch. In 2nd ch; sc back. Make one more round of sc. Ch1, sl st back. Fold it around doll with kimono and sew together ends.
Hair decoration (different colors):
Flowers: 4sc in MR, sl st to 1st sts. Leave tail to sew to hair
Make as many flowers as you’d like. I made 5.
Make chains and attach to hair. Also cut strains of yarn (I used gold glitter yarn) and attach to.
You can also use pearls for decoration.
