Merry Christmas Crochet A Star

Christmas around the corner. I want to make some decorations myself, so I made this and sharing t with you as an early Christmas gift.

Crochet Christmas Star - Free Pattern

The base for this star is the Twinkler Star by Sandra (Cherry Heart) , and counts for the first two rounds (please note that her pattern is written in UK terms)

My extension is written in US terms. I will try to explain most of it, but for this pattern I’d say that some basic/intermediate crochet experience is necessary.

I used Drops Safran and a 3.00 mm hook.

R3: Change color; Attach in back loop of 1st after any sl st; *3 sc in BL (including the attaching st), into ch-loop work; 2sc, ch, 2sc, 3 sc in BL,  sc into sl st (both loops), tr around middle dc of R1 * repeat around

R4: Change color; attach in bl of tr from last round; *sc (first will be a ch) tr around 3rd dc from R1, skip 1st, 4sc in BL, ch3, 5sc in BL, tr into 1st dc from R1, skip 1 st, sc in BL * repeat ** around

R5: Change color; attach to BL of tr in 3rd dc from R1; *in BL only 5sc (including the attaching st), sl st into ch-sp, 2dc-cluster into ch-sp of R3 (this may be a bit tricky, just squeeze your hook into), sl st into ch-sp, 5sc in BL, sl st, 4dc-popcorn*repeat ** around

R6: change color; attach in 2nd st after a popcorn-st; *4sc in BL, hdc around ch-sp from R4 (before cluster) , ch3, hdc in ch-sp from R4 (after cluster),  4sc in BL, dc around tr from R4, ch, dc around tr from R4, skip one st* repeat ** around

R7: change color; attach to 1st after a hdc after a cluster; *4sc in BL, hdc around the two dc on each side of the popcorn; 4sc in BL (don’t miss the first hidden one), hdc in hdc from R6, in ch-sp: 2hdc, dc, ch3, dc, 2hdc, hdc in hdc from last round,* repeat ** around

(3sc-cl-tog: insert hook into BL of 1st, yo, pull thru, insert hook into BL of next st; yo, pull thru, insert hook into 3rd st, yo, pull thru, you should have 4 loops on hook; yo, pull thru all loops)
