December 6th
A living room isn’t really a living room without a couch!
I decided to make one somewhat modern looking, with moduls to put together.

Crochet pattern: Modern Mini Couch (modul-sofa)
INFORMATION:
Supplies; this project is perfect for left over yarn, as you just need a tiny amount of each color. Adjust your hook size to be suitable for the yarn you use (make sure to use a hook on the lower range of the recommended size for your yarn)
For this project I used Rowan Summerlite 4-ply and a 2.0mm hook. You’ll also need some polyester filling and a needle.
Crochet Couch : Pattern
We’ll start making a square. Hook 2.0 mm. Pick a color of choice;
R1: ch15
R2-19: 18 rnds of 14sc (14)
R20: ch1, turn, make a sc in same st-sp, *crochet a border around your square; along the long side, 1 sc in ever st. Work /1sc, ch1, 1sc/ in last st (=corner), continue along the short side of your square, work // in last st.* Repeat **for the other two sides. Cut thread and fasten loose ends.
Make another identical square. Now, dont’t cut the thread.
R21: ch1, sc around the whole square in BL only. NOTE: Crochet together 3 corner sts (=4 corners) see picture below
R22: ch2 (doesn’t count as a st), hdc in same st, and around, sl st to 1st st
R23: ch1, sc in same st, sc in ever st around, sl st to 1st
R24-25: Repeat R22-23

Place the first square on top of your second piece and crochet together using sl sts, or sew it together. Please note that the top sqare have 2 more sts in every corner; skip two sts in every corner when sl st tog. Remember to fill with polyester filling before closing. I cut a piece of cardboard (see pic) and added to the bottom, this is not necessary but will help keep the bottom flat.

Make a pillow
(this is the same pattern as my button pillow but with less rounds – and I didn’t add a button):
Part one: Ch19 (the last is for turning)
Turn and work 18sc starting with the 2nd ch from hook
*ch1, turn, 18sc*
repeat ** for a total of 5 rows
Cut thread
Part two: Make another on identical. Now, don’t cut the thread, but place this last piece on top of the first you made a crochet tog wit sc in eacy overlaying sts. Before closing stuff the pillow with polyester filling. In every corner work *1sc, ch, 1sc*
Cut thread and fasten off all loose ends.
Make as many “moduls” as you want and put together to make a couch. I made two this time.

Enjoy your couch!
